The new Visitors' Center was dedicated August 12, 2021

Throughout history people have worshiped God in holy temples. For Latter-day Saints, temples are a place for spiritual reflection, a place of learning and a place where marriages for eternity are performed.

Mesa Arizona Temple

Quick facts

• The Mesa Arizona Temple was the Church's seventh operating temple; the first in Arizona

• It was first dedicated in 1927 and was referred to as an 'oasis in the desert' for early Latter-day Saints

• The temple was closed in May, 2018 for major renovation. It was previously renovated and rededicated in 1975

•  The temple was the first to present instruction in a language other than English (Spanish in 1945)

• The neo classical design of the temple includes friezes on the outside corners of the building which represent a gathering from all four corners of the earth
